Fallout Prop Nuka Cola Cherry

Description

I have recently decided to add onto my Fallout collectables collection my creating Fallout Nuka Cola Props. I created eight Nuka Colas and this happens to be Nuka Cola Cherry. Partial credit goes to :iconwhatpayne: for the creation of the labels.

I am also providing instructions on how to make such an item. Remember, if you injure yourself in the creation of this item, I am not responsible.
---What you will need---
-1 Mexican Coca-Cola 355ml (12 fl oz.)
-1 to 5 American Coca-Cola 8 fl oz. (For extra bottle caps to reseal the Mexican bottle)
-1 Bottle Cap Opener
-1 Hammer
-1 Measuring cup of at least 500 ml.
-1 Funnel
-1 Bottle of Cranberry Juice Cocktail (At least 12 fl oz.)
-Red Food Coloring
-1 Instant Krazy Glue Pen
-1 Pair of Scissors
-1 Roll/Plastic Dispenser of Invisible Tape
-Nuka Cola Cap Printouts from [link] .
-Nuka Cola Cherry Label (Each label can be printed out in MS Paint, dimensions per label after copying and pasting if done properly from sheet: 367 X 140 Pixels.) Printout from [link] .
-1 Utility Plyers with Serrated Saw Attachment (one that won't cut you, I used a Gerber Suspension)
-1 Soap Pad

---Instructions---

-1. Printout the required items mentioned above. If you already printed out a Nuka Cola Cap printout for another Nuka Cola drink project, naturally, don't prin't another cap sheet.

-2. Use the serrated saw attachment from the utility plyers to carefully scrape off the painted label off the Mexican Coca-Cola bottle(Doing so in a rough manner can scrape or even crack the bottle). This can take anywhere from fourty minutes to two hours. This is not manditory, however, strongly recommended, as the paper printout label becomes a bit translucent when the bottle is held upto the light after the label is applied, and if the Coca-Cola label is not peeled off, it becomes noticable.

-3. Use a Soap Pad around the area where the painted label was. This will loosen up and remove any really small specs of painted label that the Untility Plyers may have missed. Dry the bottle afterwards.

-4. Open the bottle of Cranberry Juice Cocktail and pour 355 ml. of it into the measuring cup.

-5. Pry off the lid to the Mexican Coca-Cola with a bottle cap opener and pour 100 ml. of it into the measuring cup (For carbonation and slight darkening purposes. Too much Mexican Coca-Cola mixed with cranberry creates a caramel looking color, so stick with 100 ml.). For a failsafe, put the rest of the Mexican Coca-Cola into a cup or bottle.

-6. Add twenty drops of Red Food Coloring into the measuring cup, two dropsat a time, and stir with a spoon in between(This will make the strong red color associated with Nuka Cola Cherry).

-7. Using a funnel, pour the mix from the measuring cup into into the empty Mexican Coca-Cola Bottle(If there is little or no spare space up at the top, remove a bit of the mix). There will be leftovers of the mix.

-8. Carefully remove the cap(s) off the American Coca-Cola(s) with a bottlecap opener as you will need them to reseal the Mexican bottle (The Mexican Coca-Cola Bottlecaps are lower grade aluminum, and very rarely reseal. If you can repeatedly successfully use Mexican Coca-Cola Bottlecaps, kudos to you). It can take several caps to get it right. Enjoy your drink and share some with your friends :) .

-9. Try to seal the bottle using the American Coca-Cola bottlecap(s). Shake lightly to see if you hear any carbonation escaping. If so, use the hammer and carefully hammer around bottlcap uptop (Hammering in the middle flattens the cap down, forcing the edges to popup). Once you no longer hear carbonation after shaking, turn the bottle upside down, and observe for leakage. if there is any, hammer as necessary or try another cap.If there is no leakage, repeat the leakage test two more times.

-10. Cut out a cap printout, flip it upside down, and with the Krazy Glue Pen, apply some super glue to the upside-down printout.

-11. Apply the cut out cap with the superglue rightside up to the Mexican Coca-Cola Bottlecap and let dry.

-12. Cut out the labels and use the invisible tape to apply them to the bottle. There are several ways this can be done, so find out a way that works best for you.

-13. If there is any extra Mexican Coca Cola left behind, enjoy it. You deserve it :). The same goes for the Cranberry Juice Cocktail.

-Note: This concoction is drinkable, and if you like a tart drink with carbonation, you'll like this mixture. Surely doesn't taste like Cherry Cola though. That's for sure.
